External Examination Results 2012

Our overall pass rate at A Level was 98.53 %, a slight fall from our high of last year of 98.95% but in line with previous years, but higher than the national figure of 98%.  The average point score per entry was (226.94) was also a little lower than last year (229.08).

The % of A*/B grades was 57.94%, above last year's figure of 57.59%. 10 students achieved at least 1 A* grade, and 2 students achieved 2 or more A* grades (1 got all 4 grades at A*, 1 got 2A* + 1A).

The AS Level results yielded percentages of A/B grades of 42.99%, an increase of over 2% on last year and continues to show an overall upwards trend at this level.

19 students achieved 3 or more A grades. 9 students achieved 4 or more A grades and 4 students achieved 5 A grades.

At GCSE 100% of students achieved 5 A*-C grades and 46.69% A*/A grades on full course GCSEs.  However, including short course entries and OCR ICT the figure rises to 47.9%... 95.98% achieved A* to C grades on this examination (compared to 96.96% in 2011). The A*/B pass rate was 79.99% and 47.52% of students achieved 5 or more A*/A grades at GCSE level this summer.

16 Students achieved more A* Grades than any other grade with 8 students achieving 8 or more A* grades. One student achieved 11 A* grades at full course GCSE (plus an A in Short Course while another student achieved 10.5A* grades).

100 students followed the prescribed subjects to be awarded the Baccalaureate (70.9% of the year group compared to 54.5% last year) of which 88 achieved the necessary grades. In English, 98.87% of students made the expected KS2-4 progress with 59.57% exceeding the expected progress. In Maths 88.65% made at least the expected progress KS2-4 with 56.03% exceeding the expected progress.  Our students are not required to follow the EBacc suite of subjects and choose their options based upon their interests and aptitude.
